Company’s Annual Dinner

At least I had this company’s annual dinner before I flew back to Malaysia. Else, I would be very pissed. However, I sort of regretted not staying longer. Apparently, according to one of my babes, the night ended rather interestingly.

IMG_4893 We headed for a karaoke session after dinner. We had two big rooms! Awesome, ya?

IMG_4887

Let me introduce one of my new colleagues, Yves, from Mexico. Trust me, this guy is really cool and he has really good sense of humour. Glad to have him with us.

IMG_4899 And this, a French dude, Gautier. Do not be deceived by his look. He is a big meanie lol!

IMG_4916 IMG_4918 We had this barrel of beer all to ourselves and we did not have to pay a single cent for it. Double awesome, ya?

IMG_4922

The Chinese sang really well while we were messing around in the KTV room. We had Eidy to sing us Spears’ Everytime, Yves to sing us Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling and Goat to sing us a French song.

IMG_4923

From the pictures above, you can tell that the karaoke rooms here are really big and spacious! They have a mini stage, couches to sit and a bar!

Me: wtf! Such a looooooong queue!

The lady on the far left: Oh, this is not a long queue.

Say what?!

Just what is the population in Shanghai? To my knowledge, ladies and gentlemen, it seems the population in Shanghai is even more than the total population in Malaysia. Can you believe that?

Ying’s Birthday@Tairyo Teppanyaki

This was my fourth and last teppanyaki for the month. Gosh, four? It’s 150 yuan for one and since I did one for free, I spent 450 yuan on teppanyaki in January! That’s not pretty.

IMG_4853

It was one of my babes’ birthday. Seeeee, she looks so excited and happy in the picture.

IMG_4834See that “camp fire”? That’s the special performance by the chefs here. I love it, only during Winter. You could feel your face burnt!

IMG_4846 Ladies and gentlemen, do get this, alright? It’s awesome!

IMG_4847 And my oh my, Angelina hasn’t changed, ya? Still a food person as well as ice-cream person. I had seven scoops of ice-cream that night. The waitress specially made this for me when I personally asked for three more scoops of ice-cream.

IMG_4854 Since it is all-you-can-eat-and-drink, we kept sake coming so, most of us were pretty much drunk when we headed to the next place, JZ Club.

Unfortunately for Jeff, he was knackered and fell asleep in the club and guess what we did to him?

IMG_4862

IMG_4865

Very lol, right?

Did you find anything funny or wrong in the menu above? People, don’t disappoint me, alright? You can do better.

Last Dinner@Tairyo Teppanyaki

Here comes my third teppanyaki for the month, hooray! It was The Giesen Brothers’ last dinner in Shanghai. They were bound to catch their flight back to Germany the next morning.

To be honest, I really miss Stefan. Of course, Christian too but, in those three months, Stefan had been like my ideal daddy at home. I shared almost everything with him and trust me, he is like the rarest gentle guy living on earth! I miss those fatherly hugs now...

IMG_4779Okay, let’s get back to this post, shall we? In my third teppanyaki, I had loads of prawns/shrimps/whatever, my favourite! Yumm! Thinking about it now make me drool. Should do another teppanyaki in April.

IMG_4784Kai, Christian and Stefan. The three tall guys at home. They are like the Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jinmao Tower and World Financial Trade Center.

IMG_4787 Us and the chef. Seriously, I believe I go to this branch too often that even the chefs and waitresses recognise me! lol!

IMG_4792

Us only :)

The dinner was great and it was Christian’s treat. Thank you very much!

Fuck My Life

Seriously.

Everything just went so wrong today. Basically, I kinda screwed my night up the night before so don’t make me talk about it. Therefore, I was hoping to have a great Saturday but it sort of turned up quite bad for me.

Seriously, what is wrong?

I went to the police station to register a new temporary resident permit but guess what? I got myself into a deep pile of shit. I should have registered once I landed Shanghai. Damnit! I can be so Godpapa damnit stupid that it is unbelievable!

500RMB fine.

Imagine me saying ‘I ain’t paying shit!

Well, not that I said it right to the policemen’s face. Poor thing would not have a single clue on what I was saying and it would be a waste of my saliva.

Anyway, like I’d said before, shits ain’t shits. You still have to move on and live your life. There is no time for you to waste, sitting down, whining about it.

Solutions time!

There were a few things that I could do that would not need to pay that huge amount of money. I had to check-in at a youth hostel nearby. Just for a night. Fortunately, there’s one youth hostel just outside where I am staying. Duh! I ain’t sleeping there lol! Spent 65RMB on that but it is far better than 500RMB, ya?

Hope things will work out.

Shall see about it when tomorrow comes...

Last Drinks@Zapata’s

That night was The Giesen Brothers’ last free-flow of beer at Zapata’s. Also, it was the day when I finally had my second massive burger at Blue Frog for dinner in Shanghai. The first and last time I had last year was around in September. Check out the size of it here. Yeah, I had that for dinner and it was fucking awesome!

After dinner, I was caught in a dilemma whether to go meet the brothers at Zapata’s. Flashbacks flowed into my mind when I was waiting for the train and guess what? I turned around and took a different train to Zapata’s.

IMG_4746Since it was half an hour to the end of free-flow of mixed drinks for ladies, I walked and jogged all the way to Zapata’s. Didn’t have my water bottle with me, I had 3 go’s of Vodka lemonade when I got there which got me really tipsy sooner than I normally would.

It was a fun night and these were what we did that night lol!

Babies in China Named "Olympic Games"

I cannot stop feeling sorry for the China babies born in the years near to Olympic Games. The parents were so proud of Beijing Olympics that they named their babies "Aoyun" which means Olympics, when Beijing won to host Olympics 2008.

Imagine a situation where two Aoyuns meet...
Aoyun #1: Hi, my name is Aoyun.
Aoyun #2: Hi, my name is Aoyun.
Aoyun #1: Yeah, I said Aoyun is my name.
Aoyun #2: Yeah, I said Aoyun is my name.

And everyone knows how rude the Chinese can be so...

Aoyun #1: You TM messing around with me?
...there goes a fight.

Stefan’s Farewell House Party!

My beloved Germie roommie had his farewell house party and ours. Somehow, that party was not as crowded as the previous house party we had. The crowd was just nice. Plus, most of the AIESEC Interns came.

The people at the hallway

IMG_4722 IMG_4723 IMG_4725 IMG_4729 IMG_4730 The ones in our tiny living room

IMG_4734

IMG_4735

And those in the kitchen

IMG_4739It was a fun night. Look at how red my face became. I had red wine for the whole night. No beer. No rice wine.

After the party…

That is the world’s biggest shoe I had ever seen. Just look at how small my foot! It is not made of sponge or whatever bad quality material you could think of; it is a real and big shoe!

Wonder if they are still looking for this missing shoe…

Ying’s Housewarming Party!

And finally, this babe had her housewarming party! It was truly packed and trust me, the night was super legen..wait for it..dary!

IMG_4697 IMG_4698 IMG_4702 IMG_4701IMG_4706 IMG_4705 IMG_4703

Okay, I realised that I was in most of the pictures. Undeniably, I was really drunk that night but not totally drunk. There’s a fine line between.

IMG_4714

And look that! See how happy she was? She fell asleep when the night was not even done with her, apparently...

James’ and JR’s Farewell@Tairyo Teppanyaki

For the third time of the month, I went for dinner at Tairyo Teppanyaki but this time, for once, is at the different branch. However, the reason was pretty much the same: farewells. Double farewells, boo! That night was an American pair dudes’ farewell. Will come to that later. First, let me introduce my new found love in that restaurant:

IMG_4673 Ox tongue! This dish entered my list in an instant! Yum!

Okay, coming back; this pair of American dudes I know in Shanghai.

IMG_4676

James..

IMG_4677

..and JR.

I met my German date through James, met James through JR and first met JR here. They are all linked lol! It was a good night :)
