Shanghai Walking Tour in French Concession

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon that I decided to tag along my housemate for a walking tour in French Concession. We visited several sites during the tour.

I remember I was in a shitty mood after and great timing, my friends asked me out for dinner. Oh, Rubens, I miss you now. The feelings of knowing my phone will ring at anytime soon to get me out is fading away.

I asked my housemate to tag along for dinner and boy, he got along well with them. What a relief. It seems I met loads of great people in Shanghai. However, like I’ve said, you meet and bid farewell to loads of great people in Shanghai.

Happy Scorpios

Had no idea that the two other babes in my department have the same birthday month as me. We decided to celebrate our birthday together with our workmates. What did we do? Typical Chinese’s favourite, KTV!

Party World is the biggest KTV chain in Shanghai, I think. Similar to Red Box, I think. It has a splendid room, with a stage! So much different from the KTV I went before. Very spacious and glam!

DSC_6769These are the fun people that I mostly hang out with. Three more persons are missing in this picture; the photographer and two more went to the washroom, I think.

DSC_6788We had beers, snacks, more beers, more snacks, and more more beers! The last thing that came into action was the birthday cake! Didn’t get to eat it though. What a pity.

The only picture that includes each and every one of us. It was fun and I wish to go for it again.

Halloween 2009

It was Halloween and was my very first time to get myself a costume for this very special day. My close friend got to get both AIESECers and FAIESECers to dress up and crashed Shanghai’s infamous haunted mansion, Shanghai Nightmare. Lurking that night were…

IMG_3520

Leatherman from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,

as well as Shanghai’s infamous mascot for its big event, Shanghai Expo 2010, HaiBao.

And spotted! Leatherman was trying to slaughter Shanghai’s beloved HaiBao!

IMG_2705Not to forget, we had a Vampire coming along with us. A package from New Zealand.

And can you believe it? Even a Shinigami appeared that night but she was no match to both Leatherman and the Vampire.

IMG_2712Meet my colleagues who are, like me, the AIESEC interns for the same company in Shanghai. Ying, the Vampire, just reached Shanghai early that morning. Trust me, I could not recognise her the next week in the office.

The night was awesome! We were like the only ones who dressed up to Shanghai Nightmare and became the center of attention from everyone. I must say I had fun and would love to do it again.

So, how was Halloween back in Malaysia?

My New Lair

I moved out one month ago. To a more strategic but more expensive area. I requested to change to a bigger bed as well as a bigger wardrobe. Therefore, I am happy happy! The room appeared to be this way on my final visit before I moved in.

IMG_3478IMG_3480Shit happened when I moved in into this apartment. Will share this shit in one of my upcoming emo posts which will take like ages?

IMG_3516 IMG_3517 IMG_3518Things started to get better when I started to settle down in my place as you can see from the pictures below. Look how cosy my room is?

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

A friend of mine, Meg, brought me to this event two months ago (yeah, backdated post again, I know). As you will see from the pictures below, I should not have been there.

IMG_3470 IMG_3472 IMG_3473 IMG_3474 IMG_3475 IMG_3476

Like really, I should not have been there…

Not that I was an anti-social or something but I am so not fit into this place? Like, they all have amazing, awesome jobs! Well, I am not saying that I have a terrible and not awesomely awesome job. My job is amazing and I love it. Well, not all of the job descriptions though.

Anyhow, the thing is, these people involved themselves in the man-eats-man world longer than me (well, I’m not even in this world yet) and I know, that is the more reason for me to talk to them but look, it was not easy. It seems these people have known each other for long and they are all in groups! I hated it.

By the end of the night, we got ourselves to talk to this pair of men who are in their 50’s or 60’s. Nice but not so interesting conversation.

We have Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry here in Shanghai and I wonder how its gathering (or party) is going to be like. I guess I have to find out. Someday.
