A New Chapter of Life

It has been almost three months now that I had moved to a new place, Penang. It was not an easy decision to make and seriously, it is hard to come from me. I am taking the risk though and I can look back no more. I know I had not been blogging that often. Procrastination ftw!

So, when I first arrived Penang and to his cove, for the love of.., the house was in a mess! I knew what was coming but I did not expect to see pictures like these! Anyway, fortunately I started my new job next month and I had two weeks of break. Therefore, I had time to do some cleaning at home.

After spending about three to four days locking myself at home just to do some cleaning, I finally came to this.

Unbelievable, right? However, due to my skin as well as my nails being sensitive in nature, there were side effects and up to date, they are yet to recover. Well, domestic life, huh?

My Triple Eleven Birthday!

I believe most of you all thought I had a fancy dancy celebration since this happens only once in a lifetime; hey, i am not gonna live for another thousand years, am i?

I was in the middle to go into a deep sleep when he came into the room, with a cake, singing a birthday song. Seriously, I did not see it coming. Not from him.

It was so sweet of him. Plus, my stomach was growling ever since I got into bed. Therefore, perfect timing!

That day itself, I was really busy at work. I will be doing my training in Kuala Lumpur next week so, I had to clear some of my paper work before I could leave. As for him, unfortunately, he was really sick and stayed at home; no, he was not pretending and then make a surprise for me. How I wish it was. Most females love surprises, don’t they?

We had a simple and nice 5-course meal at Salsas Restaurant. Initially he wanted to bring me to this German place but he could not play well with patience due to massive jam. Therefore, we skipped it.

To kick off our 5-course meal, we first had our warm seafood salad. The portion was small and well, nothing special about it.

Later, we had our soups; Cauliflower cream and lamb soup respectively. I personally did not prefer the latter one. Lamb soup just tastes so weird.

And after our long awaited moment, these are our main courses. I personally chose the first one but in the end, I did not enjoy it. Not I did not love steaks but I guess it was due to that foul blood smell (from Haji) at the roadside that I always passed by to get my car, I could not take medium rare steaks. I hope I will get over it. Fortunately, he was willing to switch his main course with me else, I would puke, trust me.

As for desserts, it was written cake, fruits and ice-cream and I really did not see the above coming. Yeah, there were cake, fruits and ice-cream, wtf

Movie next? Nope, he was really sick so we did not spend the day till late. However, we had fruits by the coast at this residential park close to where we stay and enjoyed full moon together.

Like aforementioned, it was just simple and nice. He probably could have done better buttttttttt, I doubt it lol

His Cousin In Penang

It was back in August when his cousin came to Penang.

The first time I met his cousin was back in Kuching. It was then that his cousin made a plan to come over to Penang for a few days with his beloved wife. It was awkward for me when I first met his wife but guess what? After a while, we got really close. She is a really sweet girl and I enjoy talking to her. They were together for seven years and were recently married. A very loving couple, I shall say.

Since the boyfriend was busy working, I brought them around for a while before I dropped them at Queensbay Mall and went for duty at a charity event. That very same night, we went to Batu Ferringhi after dinner.

On their last day in Penang, we brought them to buy some souvenirs back home. Of course not forgetting to bring them to taste some local delicacies.

Such as ice-cream chendol.

Urm, yam?

P1011431

And of course, the rojak.

And before we drove them to the airport, we took them to Coffee Tree to buy some coffee as well as to his mom’s stall to take away some laksa back to Kuching. We bid farewell at the airport and yes, I actually hugged her. Hope to see her again, most probably back in Kuching?

It was the second part of training after the first one I had back in September. This time, our activities were more fun. Well, I am referring to our out-of-class activities. The in-class activities were very disappointing. Probably we had high expectations. Anyway, let us focus on our out-of-class-bonding activities.

On the first night, we did not do anything fun. However, we kick-started our crazy week on the second night with a game of bowling. When was the last time I played bowling? I believe it was back in the time when I was in Form 5.

IMG_4391

On the third night, we went for a movie together – The Three Musketeers. A nice movie, I shall say and we headed to McDonald’s after that before we all went back to the hostel.

IMG_4393

On the final night, we decided not to take up the free dinner at the hostel instead. All of us headed to Alamanda Shopping Mall to have our dinner and oh, we broke into two groups; one to McDonald’s (again) while another to Nando’s.

And how were we supposed to end our final night? A two-round of bowling and I will never forget that night. Why? I had my first ever STRIKE!

At the end of the day, the family grew bigger and our bonds got stronger. Though some of us had taken different pathways, I believe strongly in our friendship. I am very sure that we will all soon see each other, probably most of us, again.
