Trust

Trust is like a glass..

“It took a long period of time to be made but it only take one second to destroy it.”

Spey-GlassMy heart was deeply broken again by the same man. Not too sure if giving him a chance is the right decision.

However, it is definitely the last chance he will ever get from me if he ever repeated the same mistake again.

Six Months Already?

Time flies.

Without realising it, I am here in Penang for six months already. Honestly, I have not built my ground yet. Still in the midst to build and expand my network. It is not as easy as when I was in Shanghai though – everyone is like friends to you when you have beers together. True story.

However, things are getting better though. I have this favourite place that I always go to. There, I get to meet great and nice people. Plus, I am joining their Youth group and hopefully, there will be a lot of exciting activities and events coming soon.

Job wise, so far so good though I failed to handle it well. Seriously, this is not easy. There are so much to learn and yet, there is no time for you to stop and learn them. You have to keep moving and learn while you move. Plus, having someone who expect you to do as well as them is even stressful. It makes me feel depressed and hard to breathe.

It would not be the same again if I were in KL was what I thought, but I highly doubt it.

Belated Valentine’s Dinner@Strada

It was the weekend when we re-arranged the night to have dinner together. I was recommended by one of my colleagues that Strada offered really good steaks in town. Since he loves beef, I decided Strada to be the place.

There were no customer at all when we were there. I thought it would be really packed so, I made a reservation. I actually reserved Valentine’s menu for us. However, after looking through their existing menu online, it is more worth to have their normal dishes.

We wanted to order one appetiser and two main courses. The owner of the restaurant warned us that it would be too much for both of us. We decided to go with Pork Knuckles and Bruschetta.

Regrettably, it was too meaty for us. I could not take it and got sick of it after a few bites. Too much meats; not because the food is bad. When we finished our food, still, there was no customers at all. It felt as if I booked the whole place. Anyway, I would definitely want to go back there again but this time, no more Pork Knuckles.

Pearly’s BIG Day!

Finally I have the time to do this post. This is going to be a happy because it was the BIG day of one of my beautiful babes! She had longed told us to keep that date free as it was the day of her to officially becomes Mrs. Ting. Also, it was an honour for me to be one of her eleven ji muis on the day of her wedding.

Well, it was a last minute invitation and I almost failed to make it. Of course I did not prepare or come up with anything. I wish I did though. I would if I was informed earlier.

There were four rounds that Mr. Ting had to go through before he could officially bring our dear friend back home:

First, he had to get signatures and wishes from the neighbours.

Second, he had to get one of his heng tais to use his toes to grab cards out from a freezing icy cold of pail of water.

Third, he had to read out an oath as well as signed them which I had attached with the video below.

Alan’s oath to Pearly

Last but not least, he had to choose the right ribbon that is tied to his bride else punishment awaits which is borne by his heng tais.

That evening was a beautiful evening for the newly wedded pair. They did look tired. I believe they must have dreaded for a long rest after this day is over.

Anyway, congratulations to both!

Spring Festival 2012

Another year had passed and before you know it, Chinese New Year came knocking your door. It happened really fast. Well, for me. And of course I would not miss this chance to go back hometown to gather with my family and friends. Best of all, he is coming back with me this time. And what’s waiting for me back home?

IMG_5189

Food, of course! I really love family reunion dinner on the Chinese New Year’s Eve night. All of us came together, surrounded our big round table and had dinner together. It was good to be home.

Then it’s firework! Sibu is really famous for this due to our giasu-sm. I never missed to celebrate Chinese New Year in my hometown and trust me, Sibu is definitely the best place to celebrate Chinese New Year.

What’s next? My dearest family members, of course! However, I did not get to spend too much time at home with them. Therefore, I am planning to head back hometown again this coming June, for my grandpa’s birthday. Will be back longer this time to spend more time with them.

Aforementioned, he went back to Sibu as well this Chinese New Year. He met my family members and good gracious, all of them sort of like him. I guess that is because he is from Sibu as well so, everything was good and went well. In fact, when I was already back in Penang, my family members asked him out to join them for dinner. Without me, alright?

But when he was back in Sibu had dinner with my family members, I was having dinner with his family members in Penang instead. It was a good night. We had really good and delicious Thai food. Though some dishes were spicy, they were good!

All in all, Chinese New Year was alright though I did not meet and spend a lot of time with my friends. Hope to have a better one next year which will be in February.
