Impotent victim: Webcam
Abominable scoundrel: A rat (!!!)

Surprisingly we still have rats in the office even after the ‘cleaning up’ by the ‘Pest Busters’.

Fumo Update #10

Aside from clubs and drinks, I venture into the world of food in Shanghai too. I find Shanghai has a lot of interesting restaurants that serve interesting food.

The most common food, Sichuan Cuisine. You only need two words to describe it. Oily. Spicy.

Soup that is full of fish (and chillies).

The only dish that is not spicy at all like, finally..

Enough of Sichuan Cuisine. It is not my favourite anyway. Behold one of my favourite dishes in Shanghai:

Thai Green Curry Beef! Me love!

Oh well, I do not always dine outside. I have home cooked too.

Home spaghetti! Prepared by a friend of mine in Shanghai. Random. Totally. But it was so good that I went for the second round..

..and I felt really sick after, as my stomach was bloated.

Roommates Dinner

Okay, now back to the outdated posts that I should have posted up here like what, last year? Geez! I am getting really lazy now.

So, in my previous post, I moved to a new place and I have new housemates. It had been a week since we moved in to the new place together and finally, we had a dinner together. Home cooked dinner. Wait, have I told you that the guys were the chefs? No kidding. They were.

IMG_3562That afternoon, I went to do some grocery with the guys. These guys are really tall, trust me. Me standing between them would remind you of Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers.

IMG_3563Aforementioned, the guys were the chefs and the girls were hooked up with their laptops.

IMG_3569The meal was lovely that I went for two rounds. I had even saved some for lunch the next day at work.

And not to forget about red wine for dinner. We did not have proper wine glasses but, it did not really matter. Really. I had a great time with all of them that night. It was my very first time to have a long and nice conversation over dinner with my new housemates. I was hoping to do more of this though..

..and we did, on New Year Eve.

New Year, New Start

Happy 2010!

I cannot believe that one year has passed just *fingers snapped* Spent almost five months in Shanghai. Great experience. Never regretted such decision was made.

I may not earn a lot in Shanghai. However, let’s put “l” in the front: I learn a lot in Shanghai and that is all that matters to me. Here, I meet people from different continents, working with people from different countries, and exchanging opinions with people from different races.

I am thankful to my mom and someone for supporting my decision to do this internship.

New Year Eve in Shanghai is crazy! I started off the night with an amazing dinner with my housemates. We had Shanghainese food and they were awesome! Later, we had friends coming over to ours for some drinks before we headed out for the real party: A warehouse party at a slaughterhouse. How cool is that? But, it was disappointing. Police busted the place. Either to shut the place down or to prosecute drug dealers.

Okay, I know you are going to ask why there aren’t any pictures.

I left my camera in my handbag. And I left my handbag with my coat. And and I left my coat at the coat-check.

Anyway, the night was legendary! I had fun with one of my close friends. She is really cool and I love her heaps. We were out until 6AM! Can you believe that? My closest friend in Shanghai was there too though he left earlier.

So, what’s my New Year resolution?

Well, I have a great one.

And it is futuristic.

And ladies and gentlemen, that is to think for the next New Year’s resolution.

Cheers to all and Happy New Year!
