Food Review@Italiannies

Italiannies? I guess I do not have to say much about this. Everyone knows this place and their food. However, it has been so long since I last went to Italiannies. I remember I celebrated both May’s and Julie’s birthdays (separately) and that’s about it. So where is Italiannies in Penang? It is located at Gurney Paragon and I guess that’s the only Italiannies in Penang? Not really sure. Not that I had seen it elsewhere in the main shopping malls.

For beverage, we ordered banana strawberry smoothies and lychee shake. They were good especially lychee shake.

We had Stuffed Mushrooms as our appetiser. Since we ordered appetiser, we were not given the complimentary bread. Oh well, at least it was good and did not disappoint us.

Our first main dish came and my oh my, fortunately we were going to share the dishes. The portion is still unbelievable huge and can be shared with two people. To be honest, I do not remember the name of this dish.

When our second main dish came, man, I was stuffed but since I did not want to waste the food, no matter how stuffed I was, I had to finish it. Of course I shared this with le boyfriend.

Oh, did I mention that this dinner was on me? It was to celebrate the first case that I had closed. I believe it is important that you have someone special to you to celebrate happy moments with. I am fortunate that I am able to meet le boyfriend even after ten years. God is good.

Kudos to McDonald’s!

It was one night that I ordered dinner from McDonald’s – a dinner set meal and one sundae chocolate. The meal arrived but I did not receive my sundae chocolate. Therefore, I made a call to McDonald’s again. The operator said she will arrange the order to be sent out soon. After waited for half an hour, I called McDonald’s. Similarly, they said they will send it out soon. Another half an hour had passed and still no news on my sundae chocolate. Not giving up, I called McDonald’s again and this time I sounded very frustrated. Not long after, I received a call from the delivering McDonald’s branch. The apologised and guess what? When the delivery man was at the door, I received two sundae chocolates, wow

The Accident!

It was after the mass when I decided to go pick up a friend of mine to have dinner together. I had never been to her place and the sky was already dark. Since I was not familiar with the area she is staying and was alone, I was very nervous. When I realised that I was lost, I was even more terrified. While trying to make a 3-point turn, being not able to keep my cool, I hit the railing.

I was on the line with my friend when it happened. When I gave the boyfie a call, thank goodness he was just nearby only. He drove over and gave me a hand. I felt blessed. Didn’t know such thing actually happened; and I thought we had no fate at all.

Since no workshop is opened on Sundays, the boyfie did the work to keep the bumper on hold. And what’s the damage? RM650, sigh.

Food Review: La France Cafe

La France Café used to operate at Northam Beach Café but now they had moved to Irrawaddy Road. Initially we wanted to go to Inn Café but it was so crowded that we decided to try out the new place. Well, it was not that bad though.

He ordered smoked salmon spaghetti. As you can see from above, we did not see much salmon though. However, taste wise, it was alright.

For the best dish for the night, it was mine! I ordered red wine marinated chicken. His sister actually ordered white wine marinated chicken but mine was better. Therefore, if you happened to go over for dinner, order this! You will not regret it.

Overall the experience was good and the ambience was nice. Price wise, it is on average. However, it is definitely a place where I will go again to try out other dishes.

Lovely Sunday with Him!

It was one special Sunday we spent the whole day together. Since I bought this lunch buffet at Flamingo Hotel for both of us from my colleagues, I decided to have it on that day.

My colleague who went there earlier had given me feedback that there were a lot of dishes and the food was fawesome! Well, of course I believe her but, when I was there, I was quite disappointed as I witnessed the otherwise. When we were grabbing food at the inner buffet, we saw people walking in from the entrance with plates of food. Food that we did not find at the inner buffet. And guess what? The food that we saw at the balcony was served for lunch as well! We thought those were for other function at the hotel. Damn!

After brunch, the boyfriend decided to bring me to a mysterious place. He claimed that it is a place where I love the most and guess what? He was right! I was really surprised! He found out that Moo Cow is in Penang and decided to give me a surprise.

And I was like frustrated and wondered why had we parked our car at Gurney Plaza’s carpark and walked out of the building and walked under the scorching sun to Gurney Paragon. It was a surprise after all.

We ended the day by watching I Not Naughty, a Singaporean movie. It was a good one and well, us being emotional, we cried at a few scenes but lessons could be learnt from this movie.

Anyway, I do wish we have such lovely weekends every week but oh well, due to his nature of work, it is hardly possible..

Food Review: Kaffa Kafe Revisited!

It was our second visit to Kaffa Kafe in Straits Quay. During our last visit there, they gave us a very good impression on what they serve.

Their Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken Salad is good so, we ordered this dish again.

His steak and trust me, it was good. The portion is satisfactory.

And as for my grilled chicken, the gravy was too sweet that I got a bit sick of this dish.

Anyway, if you are ever going to Straits Quay and wanted to eat or drink something, do drop by Kaffa Kafe. They provide nice ambience and it is not overpriced.
