Second quarter of 2015 had been a life changing quarter.
Why?
Continue to read on to find out more!
April had always been the most looking forward month to me. No, it was not because due to April Fool. It was because I went to Korea! I had already blogged about it here, here, here , here , here and here. It was a wonderful trip as I went with my beloved mum. I had been looking forward to this trip for almost a year, after Melbourne!
When I came back from Korea, I did my final move from Mainland to Island! Yes, I am back to staying on island, babeh! Left this island for two years. The move was partly because I working on island which leads to the next life changing event.
I left Etiqa!
Yes, after two years in Etiqa, I left. It was my very first time to break into tears for leaving a company. Those two years had been beautiful to me. I was really fortunate to have known and worked with them. The Etiqans are well-known for their friendliness and warmth. It is TRUE! I miss them a lot up until now. However, due to better opportunity, I decided to leave this wonderful place.
Right after my last day in Etiqa, I left Penang to Langkawi to attend District 51’s Annual Conference. It was a great experience as I was invited to be one of the emcees for one of the events. I was really blessed to be given such opportunity. Also, I managed to witness one of my closest friends to win both contests. I am glad that he was rewarded well after putting so many attempts throughout his four years in Toastmasters.
What happened after I came back from Langkawi?
Where do I work?
Ta-dah! I am finally back in AIA!
Back to Corporate Solutions Department. However, instead of being in the Agency Channel, I am now in Direct Channel. It is more challenging as compared to Agency. ‘She’ is right. When I first joined AIA, I was supposed to be in Direct Channel. However, ‘she’ told me that I was too new to be in Direct and it was best for me to start my foundation in Agency.
What other life changing moment?
I finally met the man who is awesome to change my relationship status from ‘single’ to ‘in a relationship.’ We had known each other for almost two years and if you asked if I had ever thought we would be together when we first met, the answer is ‘no’! God really has His own plan for each and every one of us. I had to go through one BIG circle and only to realise that HE is just right next to me. I am truly blessed.
Any other life changing moment?
Yes!
I was elected to be the MEF Toastmasters Club President. It will definitely be a tough term for me. Not because I am the Club President. It is because I am also being elected to be Division H Club Growth Director. Plus my workload in AIA, I really need to learn how to manage my stress, time and work.
Despite having two hectic months, I managed to get a long weekend off to head to Central Region of West Malaysia! I drove my bubu down to Kuala Lumpur for the very first time. I did not drive alone though. I had my boyfriend to accompany me. I was glad to see him mixing well with my friends and also my brother. We stayed in KL for a night before we left to Genting Highlands for another night stay before we drove back to Penang. Though it was a tiring trip, I really had fun.
However, all the fun times dieded when I received a news from home that my maternal grandfather passed away. Though I could not get home in time to attend the funeral service, I still went back home to be with my mother. I know my grandfather is in a better place and he is no longer in pain. I know I must be happy for him and that we have another Guardian Angel who will watch over us. Over me.
As I got back to Penang from that short trip, I decided to cut my hair short.
It was my very first time to chop my hair off just like that. Once I touched down Penang, took my car at airport carpark and drove straight to the hair saloon to get my hair chopped off! It was the most spontaneous thing I had ever done! And that ended my second quarter of 2015 with a bam!
By looking at the hectic-ness of the second quarter, the third quarter will not be any better.
Therefore, do stay tuned for my update!
