November 2017

..had been a very busy month for both of us.

The husband moved to KL on 1st November and that was also the day that I moved out from the room that I had been renting ever since I moved to KL. Fortunately the place that we are renting is in the same block so, I needed to move upstairs instead to a different block or condominium.

Then, we had to fly to Sibu on 3rd November. Our wedding was on 5th November. Fortunately we were doing luncheon so, it was not that tiring.

We left Sibu on 7th November.

And flew to Taiwan on 8th November. It sounds crazy, I know.

Back to Malaysia on 16th November.

I was then assigned to be in Penang from 21-25 November for work.

Later, I had to drive to Ipoh (last minute’s notice) on 28 November.

Sounds crazy but it’s all true!

Business Trip@Jakarta

Again, I made a trip to Jakarta with my superior to visit our clients as well as our principal who came all the way from The Netherlands to Asia.

Initially, I were to go to Japan but things did not go as planned. However, I still had to make an arrangement on behalf of our principal to meet the Japanese. Damn sad, kan?

By the way, are you aware of KLM airline? Believe it or not, its price is very competitive with AirAsia. AirAsia’s flight tickets cost us MYR700. Of course, you have to pay extra for add-on.

However, with KLM, with only MYR700 plus for two, you have everything you needed ie. baggage allowance of 20kg, food and in-flight entertainment.

This time, I spent three days and two nights in Jakarta and believe me, I seriously do not fancy Jakarta. I could not wait to leave the place during my stay there. The place figuratively drove me crazy but guess what? I am committed to go back to Jakarta every now and then to visit our clients, fml.

Business Trip@Jakarta & Surabaya

This trip was a real challenge for me. I literally planned the whole thing: the schedules, the appointments, the flights, the lodging as well as logistic to each client. And I did all these alone! It was quite challenging but this will not be the last trip; there are more to come.

Of course, I was really excited and had been looking forward to this trip a lot because one, I wanted to know how things go and if it will be under my control and two, I planned it all so, of course I wanted to see if things would turn out well.

We left to Jakarta on Sunday afternoon and well, Jakarta is somewhat not what I had imagined lol I imagined it to be clean and organised. Much to my horror, the traffic here is comparable to the one I experienced in Bangkok.

Though the room is not as awesome as the one I had previously, at least there is a bathtub in the bathroom too for me to take a hot bath after a long tiring day. I spent 75% of my time in Jakarta on roads, man! It was really exhausting and drained my energy a lot.

We had to leave to Surabaya on Thursday morning and then headed back to Kuala Lumpur on the same day in the evening. Fortunately, we had a one-day Haji break on Wednesday. Believe it or not, I spent my whole day in the hotel! Now you see how I couldn’t be arsed to leave the hotel and tour around Jakarta.

The worst nightmare was after our only appointment with a client in Surabaya, we had to foolishly waited for 4 hours before we could check-in and proceed to the international departure area where at least you could shop and such.

When I got home, it was around midnight and after the unpacking and cleaning myself up, I had a great Skype chat with Cyy. It’s been ages! It’s really nice to have someone you can talk to when you got home especially when you are living alone outside as it does make you feel like home..

Business Trip@Bangkok

Finally it’s here! It was supposed to be a business trip to 3 different countries in less than 2 weeks. What are they? Thailand, Indonesia and best of all, Australia! However, due to certain circumstances, we only went to Thailand last week and then, Indonesia and Australia later in the year or early of next year.

Though we were only going to Bangkok, I was really excited. One, I get to meet my clients. Two, I have never been to Bangkok!

I was in charge to book the flight tickets for my senior and I. Unfortunately, due to my typical blur nature, I booked morning flight instead of the afternoon flight. I had to wake up early in the morning, damnit! However, I am glad that I made that mistake because as we landed Bangkok earlier, I managed to explore around a bit the places around the hotel we were staying.

I was more than happy when I found out we were staying in the hotel that our client booked for us. It was indeed a nice place and yes, fortunately we had a nice place to sleep in. I would cry if we did not. I didn’t know business trips are that exhausting! You had to wake up early in the morning, took hours of car ride and followed by long hours of meetings. Maybe it’s just Bangkok?

I had fine dining almost each meal everyday. The food was great and I had drinks too but, being out until late at night everyday was no joke! Fortunately there is a bath tub in my room and I used it well. Still, it was a waste that I did not use the hotel’s sauna.

Also, this trip brought me to a whole new level. I talked to people who are in really high positions in their respective organisations. Chairmen, directors, you name it! They have at least 10 years of experience in this field and to compare to a freshman like me, I still have a long way to go.

So, what’s next? Jakarta. I have a feeling that I am expected to go by my own. I wonder if I can really do it. We shall see.
